Local man accused of making threats against staff and students at local high school

STANLY CO., N.C. – A Salisbury man is behind bars after police say they foiled a mass terror threat at a Stanly County high school.

It happened just before 7 Thursday morning. Police responded to Albemarle High School after learning of a threat targeting faculty and students. Detectives identified 22-year-old Darius Anthony Gatewood as the suspect.

Police arrested Gatewood and charged him with felony communication of a threat of mass violence, along with an unrelated felony count of statutory rape.
