Three arrested after CMPD officer was injured during call for service

Three suspects were charged in connection with the incident during the call for service.
Edward Wright, 48, has been charged with larceny, burning personal property, malicious use of explosive to damage property, felony conspiracy, possession of stolen goods, first degree trespass and injuring utility wires/fixtures.
Shermon Brown, 24, has been charged with burning personal property, malicious use of explosive to damage property, felony conspiracy, possession of stolen goods, first degree trespass and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Eric Clay, 37, has been charged with burning personal property, malicious use of explosive to damage property, felony conspiracy, possession of stolen goods, first degree trespass, possession of a firearm by a felon, assault, assault on a government official, resist, delay, obstruct, flee to elude arrest with a motor vehicle, reckless driving.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A Charlotte–Mecklenburg Police officer was injured while responding to a call in north Charlotte. At 10:34am on August 11th, CMPD officers responded to a suspicious person call on Robinson Circle near North Tryon Street. The caller reported that there were individuals attempting to steal copper wire from this location.
Officer encountered four suspects at the scene. One of the suspects attempted to flee in a vehicle, injuring an officer. The officer was treated for non-life threatening injuries and later discharged.
All four suspects were taken into custody. The investigation remains ongoing.
