Gov. Cooper Offers $5000 Reward In 2011 Statesville Murder Case

RALEIGH, NC — Governor Roy Cooper has announced a $5000 reward from the State of North Carolina in the 2011 murder of James Brewer.

Around 11:40pm on September 12, 2011, Statesville Police found 30-year-old Brewer in the passenger seat of his Chevrolet pick-up with multiple gunshot wounds to the chest. Police said Brewer was taken to the local hospital for treatment, but later died.

The governor has offered a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for Brewer’s death.
