Panthers Cut Punter Lee, Quarterback Webb To Trim Roster To 53
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Carolina Panthers have cut punter Andy Lee and quarterback Joe Webb to trim the roster to 53 players.
Each team had until 4 p.m. Saturday to get their roster down to 53 players.
In addition to Lee and Webb, the Panthers also released former Clemson Linebacker Ben Boulware, former Charlotte wide receiver Austin Duke, and linebacker Zeek Bigger, who is from Gastonia.
Receiver Brenton Bersin and offensive lineman Gino Gradkowski were placed on injured reserve.
Fourth string quarterback Garrett Gilbert was also released. The Panthers will open the season with only two quarterbacks on the roster.
