UPDATE: Police have charged Shenika James, 35, with the April 1st murder of Jarel Grace.
James is charged with Murder, Conspiracy to Commit Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, three counts of Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury, and two counts of Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill.
According to police, James turned herself in to the Clarendon County Sheriff’s Office in South Carolina. CMPD says she will remain in their custody until she can be extradited back to Charlotte. The extradition process has begun, officials say, but there is no timetable yet for her return.
The investigation into Grace’s murder is ongoing.
According to CMPD, Andrews was arrested without incident Wednesday morning. After an interview with detectives, Andrews was charged with Murder, Armed Robbery, Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery, 3 counts of Assault with a Deadly Weapon Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury, 2 counts of Assault with a Deadly Weapon Intent to Kill and Possession of a Firearm by Felon.
Police say the investigation is still ongoing.
UPDATE: The victim has been identified as 25-year old Jarel D’Shun Grace. The case is still under investigation.
UPDATE: The victim in the Colebrook Road shooting has died. The case is now being classified as a homicide. This is the 23rd homicide of 2017 in Charlotte.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police are investigating two shootings that occurred just minutes apart in east Charlotte.
CMPD responded to a call on Colebrook Road at 2:42 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. One person was shot and transported by medic to the hospital with life threatening injuries.
Minutes later at 2:50 p.m, another shooting was reported on Briar Hill Drive, in which one person was injured.
Reports indicate the shootings are related.
