RALEIGH – The N.C. Department of Transportation will continue to remove snowplowable lane markers from the work zone along Interstate 77 in Charlotte, beginning tonight. For the safety of motorists and crews, the work will require intermittent overnight lane closures.
Tonight’s work will close the northbound right lane from mile marker 11 to exit 12, and will include the ramp to LaSalle Street. That is planned for 10 p.m. until 3 a.m. Crews will do the same work on the southbound side, closing the right lane from mile marker 13 to 12, and that ramp for LaSalle Street between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m.
In addition, markers are being removed between midnight and 5 a.m. on the I-85 North ramp to I-77 South.
Motorists are encouraged to slow down and use caution in these areas.
