CMPD Identifies Victim Of Tuesday’s Overnight Homicide

UPDATE: Police have identified the victim of Tuesday’s homicide as 30-year-old Keith Ross.

The group “Dream Team For Peace” has announced they will hold a candlelight vigil for Ross in the West Charlotte High School parking lot at 7:30pm Thursday, May 18th.

Police say the investigation into Ross’s murder is ongoing, and CMPD asks that anyone with information please contact Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.

CHARLOTTE — Police are investigating a homicide that occurred overnight.

According to authorities, 30-year-old Keith Ross was found shot to death inside a home, near University Creative Arts, on Botany Street just after 2 a.m. this morning.

This is the 31st homicide in Charlotte this year. CMPD says there were only 16 at this same time last year.
