Wilson’s World: Celebrating National Drinking Water Week with Charlotte Water

CHARLOTTE, N.C. –  It is National Drinking Water Week and Wilson wanted to go to the source to learn more about our drinking water.  And the best place to do this was inside the Vest Water Treatment Plant on Beatties Ford Road where we were getting a short course on how Charlotte Water filters and purifies the water for drinking.  Wilson accompanied Barry Gullett, Charlotte Water Director,  through the facility where he went through the steps in the process before the water makes it to our homes.

Charlotte Water is the largest  public water and wastewater facility in the Carolinas and supplies on average more than 107 million gallons of drinking water to approximately 1 million people each day.  The facility performs more than 200,000 laboratory analyses each year related to water quality.
