Wilson’s World: It’s Art in the Sky with Adams Outdoor Advertising and Students of CMS

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – It has finally quit raining so Wilson headed outside and looked up…at a clear blue sky, and billboards that aren’t for advertising, but are pieces of art thanks to talented students at CMS.

Adams Outdoor Advertising teamed up with CMS to show off the artwork of Charlotte students who were part of the Scholastic Gold Key awards for art and writing.  Fifteen billboards are going up around town with artwork and excepts of writing from these award winners.

Wilson talked with Independence High School senior Devon Thomas, the artist highlighted on the billboard where Wilson was this morning.

Cheryl Maney with CMS, Independence HS art teacher Lorie Rollins, Charlotte City Council member Dimple Ajmera, Gale Bonnell of Adams Outdoor Advertising as well as Devon’s mom Vera Thomas all joined Wilson to talk about the students’ billboards and discuss the importance of the arts in the schools.

All of the billboard are expected to be up by Friday.  Connect with Adams Outdoor Charlotte’s Facebook page @aoaclt to find out more about these billboards and get a map to find out where each is located.
