House Call: Safe Sleeping Habits for your Baby

A pediatrician from Novant Health stopped by Rising with guidelines on how to keep your sleeping baby safe for this morning's House Call.

CHARLOTTE, NC — More and more states are giving new parents boxes to send their babies home in. It’s to encourage safe sleeping habits. The boxes double as bassinets, and helps cub sleep-related infant deaths, like SIDS.

There are other safe sleeping guidelines for your baby and toddler.

In 2015, the CDC said there were 1,600 infants who died of SIDS in the United States. Practices have been learning how to lower the number of sudden infant deaths over the past 20 years.
