No Injuries After Structure Fire in Gastonia

GASTONIA N.C. — The Gastonia Fire Department responded to a structure fire early Monday morning, with no injuries reported.

At 1:59 am on Monday March 20th, 2017, the Gastonia Fire Department received a dispatch of a reported house fire at: 306 South Highland Street in Gastonia, North Carolina.

Firefighters arrived on the scene and observed a one and a half story residential home, with smoke and flames visible.

Firefighters made entry to the home and encountered heavy fire throughout the structure, which was brought under control in approximately 12 minutes with no injuries reported.

At the time of the fire three occupants of the home were present, but were able to make it out of the home safely.

An estimated $35,000 in damages was caused by the fire, and the home is a total loss.

The Gaston County Chapter of The Red Cross is assisting the displaced family.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
