Police Identify Suspect And Victims In Fatal Northwest Charlotte Stabbings

UPDATE: Police have identified the suspect and the victims in the fatal double stabbing in north Charlotte, early Friday morning.

The CMPD has identified the victims as 27-year-old Yesenia Elena McMillon and 25-year-old Deandre Terrell Olson.

The suspect has been identified as 30-year-old Corey Daniel Shirly.

Detectives say Shirly and McMillon were in a previous dating relationship.  Detectives also say McMillon and Olson were friends and not in a dating relationship.

The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released as it develops.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Two people were killed after being stabbed to death early Friday morning in northwest Charlotte. Investigators say someone called 911 around 1am saying a man had been stabbed and was knocking on his door for help.

Officers arrived at the home on Biesterfield Drive and located the victim in the driveway.  He was transported to a local hospital where he died.

Detectives say a woman was located with stab wounds inside a second residence on Biesterfield Drive.  She was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A few minutes later, police say they received a 911 call from a man who advised that he had just killed two people.  The suspect was at an Exxon gas station on Glenwood Drive.  He was taken into custody and is currently being interviewed by homicide detectives.
