Statesville Man Charged With Selling, Distributing Meth After Undercover Investigation

STATESVILLE, NC — A 43-year-old man was arrested Saturday after a nearly three month long undercover investigation into the sale and distribution of meth in the south Statesville and Troutman area.

Stephen Horner of Goldenrod Lane was charged with two felony counts of Sell and Deliver Methamphetamine and two felony counts of Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Methamphetamine.

Deputies say the investigation began in late December 2016 after they were tipped off to methamphetamine sales taking place in the area of Iredell Memorial Gardens between Statesville and Troutman. Undercover investigations and surveillance led deputies to establish Horner as a suspect, according to reports, ultimately leading to a hand to hand purchase of meth at his home.

Horner has been placed under a $25,000 secured bond.

Deputies say the investigation in this area is ongoing.
