Cabarrus County Head Basketball Coach Resigns After Charges Of Stalking, Simple Assault In Meck. County

CHARLOTTE, NC — The head basketball coach at Central Cabarrus High School is facing multiple charges in Mecklenburg County, including stalking and simple assault.

According to reports, police arrested Kenyan Weaks, 39, on Friday, March 3 and charged him with two counts of Misdemeanor Stalking, Simple Assault, and Breaking/Entering to Terrorize/Injure. The Mecklenburg County jail’s website says Weaks was released on March 5.

Cabarrus County Schools says Weaks has been employed with the district since August 2014. Weaks resigned Wednesday, March 7th following the arrest.
