Pineville House Fire That Killed Two Dogs Also Leads To Marijuana Seizure

PINEVILLE, N.C. — Police say a woman was injured, two dogs were killed and 19 ounces of marijuana were found in a house fire in Pineville.

The fire started just before 1am on Marine Drive.  Investigators say the fire was accidental and was caused by cooking.

Detectives say marijuana was found inside the home once the fire was extinguished.  A search warrant will be executed on the house.

Charges are pending at this time against the homeowners.  However, police have not released their names.  The female resident suffered 2nd degree burns to her hands and back and is being treated at a local hospital.
