$1.25M In Cocaine Seized In Iredell County
IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. — A traffic stop in Iredell County led deputies to five kilograms of cocaine.
Investigators say Sherrie Reed, 37 of Upper Rochester, New York, was pulled over on I-77 by deputies on Monday. Deputies say they noticed several items in the vehicle which they asked Reed about but detectives say she was very evasive in her answers.
Deputies say she also stated the car was a rental but could not show paperwork to prove her statement.
A search of the vehicle revealed five kilograms of cocaine, which has a street value of more than $1.25M and over $1,700 in cash.
Reed was charged with felony trafficking of cocaine by possession. She was placed in jail under a $250,000 bond and is also being held on a fugitive warrant.
