Hornets to Give Away Cam Newton Buzz City Bobblehead

CHARLOTTE N.C. — In the wake of the season’s second successful Starting Lineup figurine giveaway, which featured NBA All-Star Kemba Walker on Saturday, the Charlotte Hornets today announced that they will honor one of Buzz City’s most iconic personalities by distributing Cam Newton Buzz City bobbleheads to the first 15,000 fans in attendance when the team plays the Washington Wizards on Saturday, March 18.

The bobblehead, which will be given away on one of the team’s Buzz City Nights, features Newton in his signature “Superman” pose wearing a football-style version of the team’s Buzz City uniform.

“We have long said that Buzz City is a celebration of all things Charlotte, and Cam is certainly one of the city’s most recognizable figures,” said Hornets President & COO Fred Whitfield.  “We look forward to thanking him for his significant contributions to our city and his support of the Hornets.”

In addition to the Walker Starting Lineup figurine, the Hornets previously distributed Nicolas Batum figurines earlier in the season and will complete the set of three on Saturday, March 11, when the first 7,500 fans in attendance for the team’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans will receive a Michael Kidd-Gilchrist Starting Lineup figurine.

Tickets for the March 11 and 18 games, and all remaining regular-season home contests, are available at the Spectrum Center Box Office, online at hornets.com or ticketmaster.com, or via phone at 1-800-4NBA-TIX.
