STATESVILLE, N.C. — Authorities released a sketch of a possible homicide suspect in Iredell County.
Deputies responded to a 911 hang up at a residence on Shiloh Road in Statesville on January 10th and found, 80-year-old Hugh Lee Moose suffering from apparent injuries.
Deputies attempted to render aid but Moose was declared deceased. Moose’s death is being treated as a homicide based on the nature of his injuries and other observable evidence.
Detectives are attempting to identify a white male seen in the Shiloh Road area between 5:00pm and 8:00pm.
He is described as being approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall and between the ages of 25 and 35. The person of interest was last seen wearing light brown Carhartt style overalls with a dark colored backpack.
Anyone who knows the identity of, or who had contact with the unidentified man, or with any information in regard to the homicide of Hugh Moose are ask to call the newly established Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Hotline at (704) 928-9804. Members of the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Team will be monitoring the phone and callers don’t have to provide their identity.
