Coaches Team With Local Subways To Help Fight Cancer

CHARLOTTE, NC — Several Division 1 head men’s basketball coaches have teamed up with locally-owned SUBWAYS for the Coaches vs. Cancer fundraising campaign.

Coach Tim Craft, Gardner-Webb, Coach Jim Fox, Appalachian State, Coach Pat Kelsey, Winthrop, Coach Bob McKillop, Davidson College, and Coach Mark Price, Charlotte 49ers are all taking part in the campaign. According to a release, the coaches will each take a turn working as a guest SUBWAY Sandwich Artist in a location close to their school’s campus.

“We are proud to work with Coach Craft, Coach Fox, Coach Kelsey, Coach McKillop and Coach Price in the Coaches vs. Cancer fundraiser to support people in our community facing cancer,” said Wendell Rowell, a local owner of SUBWAY restaurants. “We invite SUBWAY customers to contribute to this campaign where 100 percent of dollars raised will stay local.”

Customers can donate at any participating SUBWAY location now through February 28th. Officials say all donations will go to support American Cancer Society local patient support programs, education, and research. Final proceeds will be presented during March Madness.
