Meeting Held To Suggest Safety Improvements To Parkwood And Plaza Corridor

CHARLOTTE, NC– A call for safer streets tonight in a busy part of east Charlotte.

Residents who live along Parkwood Avenue gave suggestions today on how to fix what they call a dangerous stretch of road.

CDOT has been collecting traffic, speed, and accident data along the corridor of Parkwood Avenue and The Plaza to see what it can do.

“I don’t actually feel safe walking on the sidewalk just to deliver newsletters because are driving so fast and not paying attention,” said resident Kate Frear.

Improvements were outlined at the meeting today held by the Charlotte Transportation and Planning Committee.
