NC DOT Gives Update On Road Preps Ahead Of Winter Storm
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The North Carolina Department of Transportation held a news conference Friday morning in reference to road preparations for the upcoming winter storm.
NC DOT says 529 DOT trucks are working across the state and over two million gallons of brine solution has been used in North Carolina ahead of the winter storm.
Approximately 60 employees and roughly 30 trucks will be out during the storm to plow and drop rock salt and calcium on the snow covered roads in Charlotte.
NC DOT says they have used approximately $10,000-$15,000 in brine solution on streets in Charlotte.
Staging for plow trucks will begin around 6pm Friday evening.
