Dylann Roof Ruled Competent To Represent Himself

CHARLESTON, SC– A Federal judge rules Dylann Roof is mentally competent to represent himself during the sentencing phase of his trial.

It’s set to begin Wednesday morning.

A psychiatrist evaluated Foof over the weekend and presented his results during an 8-hour hearing today. A jury convicted roof of killing nine people inside an Emanuel AME church in Charleston in June of 2015.

That same jury will decide whether he’ll get the death penalty or spend life in prison.
