Charlotte – A Waiting Child Success Story

GREENSBORO, N.C. – In this week’s Waiting Child we catch up with Charlotte.  We introduced you to her back in 2012. She was alone and looking for a family.

Today it’s a success story!  Charlotte is the daughter to a huge, growing family, “Together between the two of us we have 9.  When we got Charlotte she made 10, and hopefully by march we’ll have two more which will make 12.  Charlotte loves her big family, “I have enjoyed my sisters and brothers, nieces and nephew mom and dad it was exciting.”

When Robert and Donna knew they wanted to adopt they called the North Carolina Children’s Home Society.  Shortly after, they met with Charlotte at a bowling alley for the very first time says Donna, “She immediately gravitated to her daddy.  She was a daddy’s girl from day one.  She bowled and ate his nachos, ate my nachos and ate her nachos. I told my husband when we got back to the car that little girl needs me and I need her.  We started the process right then and there.”

The McDonalds encourage other parents to consider adoption.  They say parenting is all about loving children through all of their experiences, “You might not have their beginning but just think, you can have their ending, and what you can do to make sure that ending is better then their beginning and so give it a try, just try it.”
